Terms of Service

By using ContentTrace, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ContentTrace, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

For paid purchases, payments are processed by Paddle. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Paddle’s terms and policies that apply to payment processing.

2. Service Access

2.1 WordPress Plugin (Free)

The ContentTrace WordPress plugin is licensed under GPL v2 or later. You may use, modify, and redistribute it freely. All plugin features are available to all users.

2.2 API Service (Paid Plans)

The ContentTrace API service is provided on a subscription basis. Paid plans grant you:

  • Higher usage limits for scanning, analysis, and report generation
  • Automated nightly scanning
  • Priority support

Your subscription is tied to your website domain. Usage limits are enforced by the API service.

3. Usage Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Share or redistribute subscription access to third parties
  • Use a single subscription on more domains than permitted by your plan
  • Abuse the API service by circumventing usage limits
  • Resell access to the API service without authorization

4. Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If ContentTrace doesn't work for you, contact us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

Refunds are issued back to the original payment method. While we approve and initiate the process, the final reversal is subject to Paddle’s processing times and your bank’s processing times.

5. Support

  • Free users: Email support (best-effort)
  • Pro users: Email support, 48-hour response time
  • Paid users: Priority email support, 24-hour response time

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

ContentTrace is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

  • The plugin will detect all content theft
  • Takedown notices (DMCA/EU/International) will always result in removals
  • The plugin will be error-free

ContentTrace provides technical tools and templates. We are not a law firm, and the generation of a DMCA notice does not constitute legal advice. We are not responsible for the legal consequences of any takedown notices sent using our tools.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall ContentTrace or its author be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the plugin.

8. Third-Party Services

ContentTrace integrates with third-party services including Archive.org (Wayback Machine) and web search APIs. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms.

9. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or revoke API access for violation of these terms. You may terminate by uninstalling the plugin and discontinuing use of the service.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts having jurisdiction over Dhaka, Bangladesh, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
